TPL Maps welcomes the Holy Month of Ramadan with localized features

New Ramadan features will be the first of its nature to be offered in Pakistan by any Map application

Karachi, June 01, 2017: TPL Maps, Pakistan’s first digital mapping solution, announced the launch of new range of features for the holy month of Ramadan. TPL Maps takes lead over its competition by localizing the mobile app according to the user’s requirement in the month of Ramadan.

In an effort to provide convenience to its digital savvy users, TPL Maps bridges the gap between technology and lifestyle with a range of features designed exclusively for the holy month. Some of the key highlights of the Ramadan features include; notifications for prayer times (Azan), locating the nearest mosques in a new locality or while driving, find stop overs for iftar and charity centres across the city and regular traffic updates to avoid traffic congestions.

In addition, TPLDirectory.com – a product of TPL Maps will be featuring updates on all the Sehar and Iftar deals across the major cities of Pakistan. During the month of Ramadan, these users will also be able to stay updated with the latest offers from their most loved shopping brands which will assist them with the preparations for the festive occasion of Eid, both via TPL Maps mobile app as well as its online directory. All this with a customised splash screen based on the theme of Ramadan will go live on the mobile application of TPL Maps.

TPL Maps and Tech Valley Abbottabad Ink MoU to Digitize Maps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

TPL Maps to develop and implement a wide array of location based services to the province in collaboration with province’s largest tech and tourism incubator

Karachi, May 3, 2017: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government announced TPL Maps as the mapping partner to introduce street mapping and Street Vision across the province. For KP government a memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently signed by Tech Valley Abbottabad and TPL Maps. Under the agreement, TPL Maps will be the maps digitization partner for the KP government.

The partnership intends to cover various prospects from providing a range of mapping solution across the cities of the province to creating employment opportunities for students which will play a pivotal role to curb the upsurge in unemployment rate. The alliance also intends to enhance visual and mapping data for the education system, along with improved residential and commercial areas mapping.

The collaboration is a classic example of a private-public partnership. For a province like KP, with a population of 27.3 million people and 26 districts, the partnership itself is a huge task to manage and digitizing the entire province is a big win for TPL Maps. This also demonstrates the confidence of the Tech Valley on using local talents and technologies to map the entire province and it strongly aligns with its strategy to bridge the gap between industry and government.

Speaking at the occasion, Umar Farooq, Founder and CEO TechValley Abbottabad said, “We are extremely delighted to have signed the partnership with TPL Maps as digitizing KP province is a key priority for TechValley as well as provincial government. Lastly and more importantly, TechValley startups will also be able to use TPL Maps API free of cost.

The stakeholders will ensure to take appropriate measures towards providing visual documentation of all the historical and tourist destinations along with Street Vision feature implementation in various areas of KP, which will be in line to significantly promote tourism in the province.

The project shall properly kick off after Ramadan across various cities in KP. TPL Maps and Tech Valley will formulate a detailed implementation plan before Ramadan and an estimated time for completion is close to the end of 2017.
TPL Maps roll out Pakistan’s First Street Vision Map

Users will now be able to virtually explore the streets of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad on their smartphone from anywhere they want.

Karachi –April 13, 2017: TPL Maps has launched the Street Vision feature for Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The attribute will allow users to virtually view the streets of three major cities through their smartphones. This is the first of its kind feature being launched in Pakistan which is a technology breakthrough by any mapping company in the country.

The street vision comes packed with features which include 60,000+ images and covers a street network of approximately 3,000 kilometers across the three top cities of Pakistan. Consumers can now virtually see their favorite locations such as restaurants, hotels, residential areas, cinemas, parks and other popular public places from almost anywhere around the world via their mobile phones.

Travly Signs TPL Maps as its Navigation Partner

Lahore – February 23rd, 2017: TPL Maps, Pakistan’s first indigenously designed mapping service has signed an agreement with Travly, a local startup providing transportation and logistics service, whereby TPL Maps will become the official navigator for Travly’s drivers.

This partnership is a first step towards building the Maps ecosystem in Pakistan, and highlights the fact that local startups are now willing to embrace homegrown technology.

“We are aggressively working with local incubators and startups to provide customized digital mapping solutions and this partnership is one of the many such alliances which will contribute to a more digital Pakistan.
